As Volunteer Chaplin to the Hutchins Fire Rescue Team
it is my responsibility to lift these brave heroes daily in
prayer, to serve as their spiritual counsel, to provide
public support and to assist them as a team member. The
nature of this duty requires a friendship that is forged in
trust gained one call at a time. Some calls bring elation of
satisfaction where victory is shared and others bring
humbling remorse of defeat. Firefighters are people who
must ride the roller coaster of these emotional moments.
It is only after one of these moments where tragedy is met
with certainty that Firefighters realize their value. It is my
conviction that God is found in our every experience, that
his Holy Spirit guides us through our every trial, and
Christ's sacrifice is but one example of God's love to us. I
am honored to have the opportunity to share in the lives
of these brave few.
As a public servant I want to help in all matters of need,
family crisis intervention, drug or alcohol abuse, suicide
intervention, and spiritual guidence counseling. I serve
